🎧 Whether you're planning a wedding, party, or corporate event, asking the right questions can make or break your DJ experience. Here are essential questions to ask a DJ before booking them. I, Brandon, will answer questions that are usually asked when considering Ewing's Mobile DJ Service.

🎵 Experience & Style

Ewing’s Mobile DJ Service has been in service for 20 years plus. Brandon has been DJing longer than that.

Mostly Weddings (Reception and/or Ceremony, School Dances, Proms, Parties.

“ My DJing style is all about reading the crowd and creating an atmosphere that feels personal to the event. I don’t lock myself into one genre — instead, I blend everything from timeless classics to today’s hits, weaving in pop, R&B, hip hop, country, and dance tracks depending on the vibe. My goal is to keep the energy flowing and make sure every guest feels included, whether they’re on the dance floor or just soaking in the moment.

I love curating customized playlists that reflect the client’s story and preferences, so every event feels unique. At weddings, that might mean mixing romantic ballads with upbeat party anthems; at school dances, it’s about high energy tracks that keep students engaged; and at private parties, I tailor the set to match the mood whether that’s laid back or all out celebration.

That will be the guests of honor (the person that hired or is the event for) decision. In most cases, the floor is open to requests from guests during the event.

Yes, you sure can provide a “do not play” list. That will determine the music tastes of the clients and prevent requests from the guests if requesting certain songs that are not liked by the client.

📀 Music & Equipment

Yes, Ewing’s Mobile DJ Service provides own sound and lighting equipment unless in agreement for different matters.

Yes, we can provide music for both the ceremony and reception (or multiple parts of the event. That is planned accordingly.

I handle song transitions very smoothly. I can mix at the client’s request.

Ewing’s Mobile DJ Service doesn’t have videos of past performances but can provide sample mixes upon request. For the most part, sample mixes and videos are not made.

📅 Logistics & Planning

You are more than welcome to contact us directly to see if we are available for your date. You can also place your date into our check availability box to see if the date is available on the front page of the website (where it is mostly located.)

It will be based on a situation basis. Most events require at least 1 hour 30 minutes for set up. I prefer 2 hours.

Ewing’s Mobile DJ Service requires and retainer/deposit, which is located in the contract provided to the client for signing. The cancellation policy is also in the contract that will be signed by both parties.

It will be Brandon Ewing DJing the event unless something happens.

Yes, at the client’s request, Ewing’s Mobile DJ Service can act as an emcee and make announcements.

Check on the date to see if it is available for you. If available, Ewing’s Mobile DJ Service will generate a contract for client to sign. In order to book the date, the contract needs to be signed and the retainer/deposit fee needs to be paid. Once the contract is signed and the fee is paid, you are considered “booked”.
